What it does

Named values your setup can react to: the ones you declare, built-ins like the hour, the front app and the network, and what extensions publish. Set one by hand for a while, reset it, or declare a new one.

States puts an item on the menu bar (or sketchybar): a glyph, a short title, a badge, and something that opens on a click. It takes no space while it has nothing to say. How bar items work.
